China Exchange Program 2026

China Exchange Program (CEP) is a unique opportunity for young international talents to live, work, and explore the vibrant culture of China for one to three months. Whether you are a current student, recent graduate, or young professional, CEP offers three flexible program tracks:

Types of Funding

  1. Visit and Exchange: Funding is provided for foreign youth to participate in group-based exchange activities in China lasting no more than 30 days;
  2. International Internship: Funding is provided for enrolled foreign youth to undertake internships in their field of study or research in China for no more than 60 days;
  3. Short-term Work: Funding is provided for graduated foreign youth to engage in short-term work in their field of study or research in China for no more than 90 days.

Eligibility for CEP

Foreign youth coming to China must meet the following conditions simultaneously:

  1. Be between 18 and 35 years old (born on or after January 1, 1990, and on or before January 1, 2007);
  2. Currently enrolled in or graduated within the past three years from a foreign higher education institution (including vocational and technical schools) and have obtained a relevant degree (including bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees);
  3. Possess good language communication skills in English or Chinese;
  4. Be physically and mentally healthy, have no criminal record, and commit to abiding by Chinese laws during their stay in China.

Application Materials

  1. Personal Resume (including: full name, nationality, date of birth, gender, passport number, field of expertise, educational status, current or graduated university [name of institution, global QS ranking, national ranking]; for graduates, please specify graduation date and employer.)
  2. Proposed Exchange Plan in China (1 page) – Outline the objectives, content, expected outcomes, and explain how the plan leverages resources available in Chengdu.
  3. Scanned copy of the passport information page (the page with photo and personal information).
  4. A scanned copy of the degree certificate or proof of enrollment.
  5. Other materials that may demonstrate professional competence (optional).

Funding Amounts

  1. Visits and exchanges (no more than 30 days) : RMB 10,000 per person (before tax);

  2. International internships:
    (a) For internships in China lasting up to 30 days (including 30 days): RMB 15,000 per person (before tax);
    (b) For internships lasting 31-60 days (including 60 days): RMB 20,000 per person (before tax);

  3. Short-term work:
    (a) For work in China lasting up to 30 days (including 30 days): RMB 15,000 per person (before tax);
    (b) For work lasting 31-60 days (including 60 days): RMB 20,000 per person (before tax);
    (c) For work lasting 61-90 days (including 90 days): RMB 25,000 per person (before tax).

Application Deadline

The application deadline of CEP is December 30, 2025 (Beijing Time).
Applications will NOT be accepted after this date. Please ensure timely submission.
